We join together to support and encourage each other on our spiritual path. There are many ways to feel a part of and support the Unity Temple community. Listed below are volunteer opportunities as well as these businesses that support Unity Temple:

• Need to send a card to a loved one but don't have time to find a stamp? Check out www.sendgracenotes.com! Here's a unique opportunity to help others through difficult times with cards of encouragement and hope. Every card purchased creates a donation back to Unity Temple.

Greet & Help

• Receptionists: Greet people and answer phones Monday through Thursday
• Greeters: Greet at Sunday Service
• Ushers: Usher at Sunday Service
• Sanctuary Helpers: Organize pew racks for Sunday Service during the week or before service
• Socialites:  Set up beverages and cookies for Community time before and after church

Love, Guide & Sing

• Prayer Team: Confidentially pray for others at home weekly
• Youth Team: Support our youth at least one Sunday a month
• Singers: Practice and sing in the choir for Sunday Service
• Chaplain Ministry: Be trained and commissioned to pray with people during services, make pastoral calls and visits

Enlighten & Inspire

• Unity Temple Bookstore: Assist in our bookstore on Sundays
• Cornerstone: Help with activities and special events
• Mail Team: Label and sort bulk mailings periodically

Serve & Shine

• Holiday Helpers: Assist with Holiday receptions and dinners
• Garden Fairies: Nurture and plant our outdoor landscaping

Join us for an opportunity to help hungry children by putting together snack packs! We meet at Harvesters, 3801 Topping Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64129. Join us in helping feed the hungry at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2nd Saturdays of each month

Next volunteer opportunity: Saturday, June 9, 2012, 9 am - 11:30 am 

Join us as we help serve meals at St. Paul's Church, located at 1300 North 18th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. It's a great opportunity to serve as well as get to know other practitioners. If you'd like to carpool, meet Janet Taylor in the Unity Temple lobby at 8:30 am. Help Someone to Learn to Read. You can help someone learn to read!! It's hard to believe that 225,000 adults age 16 and older in the Kansas City metro don't know how to read! Chances are you know someone who is facing this tragedy every single day of their lives. The Unity Temple Helping Hands Volunteer Group is partnering with Literacy Kansas City to change this and help adults learn to read! We are looking for volunteers to help tutor and mentor these forgotten students.

Adopt A KC Public School Program: Unity Temple is pursuing a program to adopt a Kansas City Public School. Individual volunteers would agree to tutor two students once a week for one hour (thirty minutes each).
