“We didn’t learn racism alone. We cannot unlearn it alone.” – Rev. angel Kyodo williams
You are invited to this 4-week exploration of the book Radical Dharma written by Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Lama Rod Owens, and Jasmine Syedullah Ph.D. Each week we will join as a community to mindfully explore a section of the book and the unique vision of collective liberation it offers.
Each meeting will include meditation, reflection, and sharing. Sessions are drop-in friendly; register for one, some, or all.
Temple Buddhist Center has chosen to donate 100% of registration proceeds equally between the Reale Justice Network (https://www.facebook.com/Realejustice00/) and Showing Up for Racial Justice-KC (https://www.facebook.com/SURJKansasCity/)
There are two ticket options for these meetings:
Sustaining Ticket: $20 per meeting - helps to support scholarship attendance
Standard Ticket: $10 per meeting
We want everyone who would like to attend this series to do so. To register on scholarship, use the coupon code "SCHOLAR" to register for free.
More about the book from Goodreads.com “…this urgent call to action outlines a new dharma that takes into account the ways that racism and privilege prevent our collective awakening…Radical Dharma demonstrates how social transformation and personal, spiritual liberation must be articulated and inextricably linked.”
